Thread: Type of Action/Operation

    Type of Action/Operation

Does the firing mechanism of a 37mm launcher have to be manually cocked to be legal? Would making a receiver/action that cocked on opening or closing be illegal?

My Federal Labs launcher is DAO.

    Is It a D.D.

I guess I worded that wrong. What I meant was, would that type of action make it a D.D. Or does the "only if possessed with anti-personnel ammunition" rule still apply? For example,if I were to build a M203 type receiver/action in 37mm,would it be a considered a D.D. because of the type of action and have to be registered?

DD is determined by bore size not the type of action. I believe all the manual cocking of launchers has to do with the cost of manufacturing only.
As you can see a double action can be expensive to make.

Looks like a very simple method of DAO. My idea for a DAO action on is kind of based the same, but with the trigger pulling the firing pin instead of pushing it.Formed the design in my head after looking at the internals of a broken cap gun.
